I started to make this game several years ago but stopped after about a day or two. Now I finally finished it!

Arrow Keys: Move

Hold Z/C: check inventory (Use arrow keys to select different items)

X/V: Pick up or use item

Each tool you find can be used to get past obstacles of the same color, but it will need to be made useful by exposing it to the right element. For example, use the fire to light a torch, or use water to fill a bottle. The goal is to collect all the crystals so that the gate to the main castle opens.

Errmmm... well I finished it... I think...

I'm not sure what to say. Its a short and interesting game with some ZX Spectrum vibes. I had trouble understanding what the objects were at first. And I think I finished it. Maybe there's something more to be discovered...

@phil Thanks for playing! Yeah, I was going for a ZX Spectrum look with the color blocking. I probably should've added labels/names for the items to make it less confusing though

Very nice little game! I really like the color idea you have where you have to get rid of the color in each area, and items being color coated for the area they should be used in is a very nice addition as well.

I liked it! I think the color-coding and the puzzles are good as-is - Once I found me way, i felt good for having figured it out.

I like how the ending was kind of creepy, but maybe cut to black after 5 seconds or so so the player knows it's over?

I found the half-screen scrolling to be a tiny bit nauseating - your character moves pretty fast, and so the screen is snapping all over the place.

I LOVED the look. I wasn't much of a ZX gamer, but I get those vibes here. Really cool. great fit for pico8.
