Adventure Mode Map File

Here's the map file for Adventure Mode:

Keep in mind that this level evolved as I was adding stuff to the editor. So it's a bit messy -- not the best example to learn from. There are some weird triggering schemes that were work-arounds for missing features that now exist.

By posting this file on the BBS, it's now creative commons. So feel free to remix it, make a hard or easy version, grab any models you want or sell it on the side of the street.

Respect to oldtopman for managing to pick the map out of vox.dat with a hex editor. You can thank him for prompting me to post it a earlier than I would have otherwise.

Oh wow awesome!
I presume you just save the .png in your 'maps' folder, but how do you access that from in-game?
Through the level editor?

edit: Tried to right click > open with > vox.exe, but that didn't work :3. The game ran but the level didn't load. That could be a cool future feature though! (you can load replays for Starcraft 2 that way)

Right, I suppose maps should be associated with vox.exe

You can save the file anywhere that's convenient (probably my_maps) and then just load and edit/play as usual.

To locate the my_maps folder, try the "OPEN FOLDER" button on the load dialogue in the editor.

Neat!

In the first room, when you play adventure mode you get some text displayed when you get in front of the post.
This doesn't happen when you load the map in the editor. I guess this feature is hacked in, and not supported by the editor when playing it. But is it planned for it to be supported in the future so you can show custom texts?

EDIT: Nevermind, you already answered that here

Good job on that decoding.
Thanks for the share.

No problem. I have the other images, but since I don't own them I can't redistribute them. Someone released an extractor/expander that you can use to get the other images legally.

#occupylexaloffle Release the hidden levels! 99% of the users don't have them!

I'd just like to point out, zep, That using this level, we can add the dragon to our levels as well. I tested this theory, and it works.

So yeah. :D
