You can download the levels directly in the game, therefore click Play/BBS Levels and than select a map, then it's downloaded to your computer as an image file and you can play it anytime. It's downloaded to "c:\users[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Voxatron\bbs_levels\0" (on win7 and vista) but you don't need to go there.

Edit: As Noceur says it's also possible to save the images of maps from the forum to "Voxatron\bbs_levels\" or "Voxatron\my_levels" and then to play it ingame.

It's kinda easy.

If you mean levels that are uploaded on the forum (for feedback, etc), just save the .png file to c:\users[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Voxatron\my_levels\
Then you can load the .png file in the editor in-game.

Or am I wrong?

Yes and No.. when you bring the level into the editor, you can look at everything.. but you cannot see thier custom objects they created to make it on the Objects tab.

It is a really cool idea. I don't feel like making a whole level anytime soon, but I could definitely make a few objects, and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same. Getting a big objects database added into the game for people to use could be a big boon to the editor!

Object sharing functionality is coming soon

For now, you can post objects just by uploading the png to the BBS. Go to your profile page (click on your username) and then the pink disk to upload something.

By the way, you can also load and save voxel object banks (VOBs) as separate files. An object bank is one of the 6 collections under the objects tab. View the bank you want to save, and then CTRL-S to open the save dialogue and name the file something.vob (it will become something.vob.png)

To load an object bank into your level, again open the bank in the object tab that you want to write over, and load the .vob.

If you want to double-check if something is a level or a vob, view the png and look at the text at the top. It should say "Voxatron Level" or "Voxatron Object Bank"

SmokestormX -- you should be able to see the custom objects someone used to create the level. Perhaps they added them at the end of the default objects VOB so you can't see them without scrolling down.

@zep
Wow, great answers. You're posting a lot of good info in the forums, but it's really hard to find it all since there's no way to view all of your replies; if I click on your name, it only shows the new threads you've started. I know you're busy with the game, but I really hope you can add something basic to the BBS soon to let us look up your (and other user's) posts! :)

IMHO, sharing only one object is not really needed if you can already share whole object banks, you can make a bank with only 1 object if you want.

What would be more useful would be being able to move objects from one bank to another.
