CONTROLS
Left/right - move left and right (original!)
Z - do a jumping


Been working to create a simple framework for a platformer. No ideas of gameplay yet, but I'm happy with the look and feel of it.
Massive thanks to mhughson for his Micro Platformer to get me started.
Also uses Scathe's lovely little animation script.

Somehow the controls just feel right. the speed isn't too fast or too slow.

The double parallax scrolling is awesome! The jumps felt a little 'floaty' to me but otherwise looks like your on your way to an awesome little platformer (^__^)b

Nice way to extend the basic example. I had to do the same thing for my platformer game so it could support camera moves and better collision. Wish yours had been up before I started, ha!

I suppose I could build a platformer engine with my own style of coding and methods. Problem is, it'd be so much spaghetti code you'd need RAGU just to get into it. :)

Thanks folks! Been distracted by trying to get stuff up for GBJam, but I'm back to playing with this now. There's some clipping issues if you move into the underside of a platform whilst jumping.

Might make the jumps a bit less floaty and get sideways momentum working properly next. My tests of pickups and enemies are going good though.
