Games in Development (Teaser)

New Games! They're all in early stages of development, so I can't say yet when they'll be available. But, roughly.. Lil Sprout will be later this year, and the other 2 next year.

:: Mega Panda

Mega Panda is a puzzle game in the same format as CC @ & ZPG @ -- it has a set of hand-designed puzzles and an editor. The player can scoop up and merge a few pandas to produce a single, larger panda. The goal is to do this until there is only one, very big 'MEGA-PANDA' remaining.

:: Conflux

Conflux is an ecological action game. The player takes control of a powerful peacock-like creature whose task is to manage an ecosystem of increasing complexity. Every now and then a new species is added to the mix, and it's up to you to maintain the balance.

:: Lil Sprout

Lil Sprout is based on a Ludum Dare @ 48h entry I made a couple of years ago (Super Sprout). This game is all about growing impressive plants out of your head.

Oh, that looks great! I just hope it doesn't go a bit 'jeff minter' on us in the End Game screenshot.

Hehe.. yep, it goes completely Jeff Minter on you. But there's no need to see what's going on by that stage. I'll try and keep the playable parts readable, I promise.

Are you using SDL for most things here Joseph?

::

Yep, actually I use the same library for all of my inhouse games which uses SDL for the low-level things. It's sort of like a stripped down version of Allegro.

For Lil Sprout I decided to switch to Haxe though. I think it would make a good web game, and open source flash development tools have become quite comfortable to use recently.

Looking forward to Mega Panda!
Hopefully the other projects don't distract you too much ;)

::

Ha. Yes, I have a good deal of distractions. This is only the tip of the iceberg!
I certainly bit off more than I could chew with Conflux though, so it's sleeping for now: @

Mega Panda's still coming along nicely. Right now I'm figuring out how to animate pandas merging into each other. As it turns out, noone knows what that looks like.

Actually, yes, I do! I've sent you a message.

I could still do with a couple more, so if anyone else is keen to test Mega Panda: hey at lexaloffle dot com
(especially Chocolate Castle & ZPG players)

I can be a beta tester if you want. I'm (with my girlfriend) a big player of Jasper and Chocolate Castle.
