So I just got Voxatron from the humble bundle and noticed that unlike the version I played there, this one does not respawn me in the room I die in. Instead it send me all the way back to the beginning of the cart. I was wondering if this is some sort of glitch? Is there something i can do to fix it?

I am having the same problem, im sure it has to be a glitch... it doesn't do it on the online version. is there some way to save your progress?

Came here searching for a solution to this same problem.

Unlike the playable version on humble bundle, my .exe and .zip games are reverting back to the very beginning as if I just quit and restarted the game.

Would love a solution to this if anyone has one.

This is a very disruptive bug and not a nice introduction to Voxatron -- sorry about that! I just found the problem and will have it fixed in 0.3.1 shortly (Monday?). Until then, here's a work-around. You only need to do this if you didn't previously have Voxatron installed (in which case the bug will not show up):

1. Find Voxatron's savegame folder.
   Windows: C:/Users/Yourname/AppData/Roaming/Voxatron/save
   OSX: /Users/Yourname/Library/Application Support/Voxatron/save
   Linux: ~/.lexaloffle/Voxatron/save

You can alternatively open the editor, Ctrl-L to load a file, and then push the 'Open Folder' button. This will take you to the my_levels folder, so just navigate up one and open 'save'.

2. ok, now that you have the save folder open, create a sub-folder called 0 (that's a single zero).

That's it! I tested this on Linux and OSX, but let me know if it still shows up.

Note that some carts don't save every room, but I don't think any of them ever send you all the way to the start.

The workaround seems to work, and I respawn in the correct room, but once I restart the voxatron.exe, it removes all of my progress (even hiscore).

I is having the same issue. I've tried installing 0.3.1, but when I launch it still says I'm on 0.3.0... Anyone else having the same problem?

I'm having that problem as well. The strange thing is that the installer file says 0.3.1 and the program is labeled 0.3.1.
