So, what's supposed to happen is that when you carry the defeated apple around on your head, it starts shooting something out, right?
This is a bug. I've listed it for 0.2.10, but I'm currently reworking the collision events anyway (one of the last things to finish for this update). As the earlier thread on collisions points out, there needs to be a distinction between colliding with other objects vs. the map (e.g. walls) vs. either. For example, here's what colliding with a player now looks like:
There's no work-around for now unfortunately, but I'm hoping to get 0.2.10 out next week.

Is there is a way to destroy objects / monsters / pickups besides shooting it
or colliding with it?
Maybe emitter can be used to have objects destroyed as well as called...
