The final game created in my PICO-8 tutorial.

Some notes for beginners (in addition to the video above):

  1. In the map editor you can use SPACE+mouse drag to pan (and show the grid!). It also supports zooming with mouse wheel.
  2. The sound editor is not only for sound effects but also for composing patterns (press TAB) that can be used in the music editor ("tracker" in the video)
  3. The music editor primarily is for arranging songs made from patterns. It can also be used to modify patterns but offers no tools for that.

Thanks for the tutorial! I tried following along with it before, but got too excited and went gung-ho into creating a hangman game. While it works, I think I probably could have done a far better job if I had have just followed along with your tutorials completely, first. haha

Anyway, here's my completed Light Cycles game created using your tutorial:
