This is my very first game I have ever coded. I am really excited, for (although the code is pretty sloppy) the game has turned out to be great in my opinion. The reason why the game version is "Beta... ish" is because I would not consider this as the "full version" of the game. The full version of the game will include a title screen, Boo boo bear, and some settings and other fun stuff.

Thank you for reading and for playing my very first game!

Not bad at all! The edge warping caught me off guard but got to about 25 baskets before Ranger Smith nabbed me - all that diagonal movement outran poor old Yogi.

Might be kind of neat if the clouds increase as you progress and maybe they could "hide" Yogi and then Ranger just wanders...?

And you could add a unlock prize that once you reach 50 baskets you can choose to be Boo-Boo :) hehe

Phew ! 41-picnic baskets. I can see why Yogi is so fat here ! :)

Yep, to get a high score, linger in a corner, when the Ranger is almost touching warp to opposite side and nab the basket.

Now a real challenge would be an option to play where you CANNOT warp from one side to the other.

Is the cloud cosmetic or does it do something in the game ?

As this is a tracker type game, suggest turn off wrap-around as player can cheat and lure Ranger to edge each time.

Instead add ability of hit button to SPRINT but you go slower for a short time afterwards and you can't SPRINT again until that time is up.

Ranger does not see YOGI if a certain distance away to add complexity to player's movements.

Make it challenging ! :D

Thank you for your comment!

I may add sprinting in the next update!

Also, the clouds are cosmetic. :)

What you might do is have people come from sides, if they collide with the Ranger, he stops to 'talk' to them. This gives YOGI an opportunity to nab the basket.

But once YOGI touches the basket, the Ranger can then immediately go right after him, and again get distracted by running into someone.

You might want to look at the mechanics of, "The Grinch" for Gameboy Color to see a great 'present grabbing' game and to see the AI of the enemies in it and how they SEE the Grinch when he is standing and they are facing him.

Grinch Level 2

BTW for you veterans, is there any way to port NES, Gameboy, or GBC music or sound effects to PICO ?
