This is my first attempt at a level. I wanted to do something that messed with scale, like a Daikaiju movie set.

GOJIRAAA!

It's beatable but not easy.

This is awesome. I love it.

If you're going for the kaiju theme, I'd make buildings even smaller! :)

P#2746 2011-11-04 00:31 ( Edited 2011-11-04 04:31)

Yeah, fun level. :)

P#2747 2011-11-04 00:34 ( Edited 2011-11-04 04:34)

Awesome level!

P#2752 2011-11-04 00:43 ( Edited 2011-11-04 04:43)

I was building something like that. Now i have to find new idea. thanks.

Awesome level!

Yeah, I basically just let the voxels dictate the scale, based on the smallest buildings I could still get some reasonable detail into.

P#2760 2011-11-04 01:18 ( Edited 2011-11-04 05:19)

Also seems to be the natural scale for tiniest possible cars

P#2763 2011-11-04 01:23 ( Edited 2011-11-04 05:23)

Very cool stage, I really enjoyed the little details.

P#2765 2011-11-04 01:53 ( Edited 2011-11-04 05:53)

Wow.

Wee.

P#2770 2011-11-04 02:45 ( Edited 2011-11-04 06:45)

Quite hard, but fun and very good looking.

P#2772 2011-11-04 03:22 ( Edited 2011-11-04 07:22)

Yeah it probably could use a little more refinement with the spawns, and a few more weapon drops (and points drops) - I just wanted to hurry up and post it before somebody else did something similar :)

P#2777 2011-11-04 04:11 ( Edited 2011-11-04 08:11)

Making my own small city but I think my buildings are even smaller. But I will check yours out. You probably got much more details then what I have.

P#2782 2011-11-04 04:38 ( Edited 2011-11-04 08:38)

I wanted to make it big enough so that the buildings would have individual floors and internal structure, so you could see the honeycomb when they get split open.

Geeking out on voxelism, in other words.

P#2784 2011-11-04 04:42 ( Edited 2011-11-04 08:42)

Just started to build my city when I saw this! :D Amazing stuff!

P#2835 2011-11-04 11:17 ( Edited 2011-11-04 15:17)

nice level!

P#2845 2011-11-04 12:25 ( Edited 2011-11-04 16:25)

Excellent build quality! I couldn't beat it though.

P#2864 2011-11-04 14:31 ( Edited 2011-11-04 18:31)

Great level. Difficult. I love how the little blue guys pour out of the buildings, come running up the streets and especially how they cut through the alleys. The boss is really tough, too, and the map really supports its abilities well. Weapon/health drops are good - you've really got to figure out where they are and get there on time to beat the level. Hard to believe its your first! l;D

P#2873 2011-11-04 15:52 ( Edited 2011-11-04 19:52)

Very nice level indeed. It was very fun running around jumping over buildings and cars and stuff. :)
But as others have pointed out, it's a bit hard. Hope you'll update it to make it a little easier.

P#2887 2011-11-04 18:07 ( Edited 2011-11-04 22:07)

Splendid!

Yeah, I was quite pleased with that! The city is loosely based on my memories of Tokyo, and the way the buildings are all crammed into the block in a haphazard sort of way. Although I haven't included anything too specific - no shrines or Japanese stop signs or anything like that. Maybe I will put in some of that stuff into a new version - it would be cool to add a train line in there somewhere. Anyway, I mention this because I was contemplating putting in the green railings around the sidewalks which are fairly characteristic of Tokyo but I didn't want to stop the little blue guys from flowing around all the little spaces.

Yeah I might give it a tweak and try to be a little bit more generous with powerups and tone down a couple of the more extreme tsunamis of blue guys.

P#2921 2011-11-04 21:48 ( Edited 2011-11-05 01:48)

Haha, extreme tsunam... Oh wait...

P#2930 2011-11-04 22:34 ( Edited 2011-11-05 02:34)

This level is really cool. I wish anti-aliasing would be enabled in the editor aswell. This would make up a cool wallpaper :D

P#2939 2011-11-04 23:28 ( Edited 2011-11-05 17:02)

Love the attention to detail, -you even put stairs in the tiny houses! If we ever get moving objects it would be great to see the cars rolling past when the stoplights turn green.

My favourite level thus far, great work!

P#2964 2011-11-05 03:59 ( Edited 2011-11-05 07:59)

This is amazing, I love it. Very difficult though.

P#3029 2011-11-05 12:53 ( Edited 2011-11-05 16:53)

Hey wow look at that. Neat!

P#3194 2011-11-06 02:53 ( Edited 2011-11-06 07:53)

I didnt see this yesterday! I was busy making my own city and surrounding environment. No where near as detailed as yours though!

I guess what I mean is that it is hard /for the right reasons/. There's so many levels out there which rely on mobbing the player with enemies that it really becomes a grind - and yeah, there's a lot of enemies in your level, but it's hard because of which enemies you've chosen, specifically. If anything, add more rooms/levels!

Thank you! It's always gratifying when you do something and people totally get it, because yeah, I intended right from the start that it was going to contain those specific enemies, and happily, they all came together just like I hoped they would.

The best BBS Level by far. The details are outstanding. Voxatron would be a classic even if it was only this level. Well done!

P#3753 2011-11-09 21:47 ( Edited 2011-11-10 02:47)

I played it just now - really cool level. There's a lot of attention to detail in that level. Quite good work.

P#3787 2011-11-10 00:37 ( Edited 2011-11-10 05:37)

Nice work, a little hard though
